Biography
Martin Riveros Baxter was born in the city of Quilpué on February 15, 1990. He studied at the University of Playa Ancha in Valparaíso, Chile; from which he graduated in 2012. He studied the technique of photorealism in painting and focused on developing neatness and detail, but over time this lost relevance and began to give priority to the symbolic content of the work. From that moment he began to venture techniques and aesthetics, which over the years were taking shape. At that time he was influenced by Flemish painters such as; Bosch, Hugo van der Goes and Rogier van der Weyden and then by artists such as Beksinski and H.R Giger.

In his current work, organic structures that emerge from the automatism of drawing and painting are manifested, in turn such forms are inspired by formations in nature, such as those of plants, bones, minerals, organs of living beings , and cell structures. The human body is also a recurring theme in his work, not only the skin is shown, but also what is under it, in order to show the mechanical complexity that underlies us.

• 60*60 acrylics on stretched canvas

10. Divinity

• 2x3ft acrylics on stretched canvas

• A visual meditation on cosmic balance, sacred flow, and the infinite dance of energy.

11. Die Young or Live Forever

• Medium: Originally created with acrylic paint and tempera on paper (two A4-format paintings), later digitally combined

• Time Spent: Approximately two weeks

This piece is a digital composition made from two separate paintings. The background is a stylized reinterpretation of Vincent van Gogh’s Cypress Trees, but reimagined in a dreamlike, checkered textile dimension, where everything, the sky, the trees, even the grass is made of fabric.

At the center stands a powerful figure that represents Van Gogh, reborn as my own artistic creation. He is my favorite artist, and through this painting, I wanted to express how he still lives on, not just in art history, but in our emotions, our creativity, our collective memory.

He created something eternal, and in a way, so did I. That joy, that flow, it’s alive in us. We are more than just human; we are part of the worlds he painted. And now, so are you, the one reading this or simply glancing at the image.

This painting was made for a project centered on textile design. The colors closely echo Van Gogh’s own palette, emphasizing that even for those who tried to escape life, like he did, life finds a way to continue. We are all one, connected through expression, through art.

The title “Die Young or Live Forever” touches this theme deeply, Van Gogh may have left the world too soon, but through his work, he lives on. Forever.

13. Grave for the forgotten gods

• Medium: Graphite pencil, A5 paper

Silhouette signals from the Communion of Clockwork Agents.

This is a dancing emblem that serves as a way to break free from the chains of the karmic cycle. It embodies only creation creating creations ad infinitum; there is no destruction, deterioration or consumption here, only dependent origination and arising, eternally.

(It is a hyperdimensional performance, similar to a Kikkli.)

16. NTT Azie (The Cosmic Keyholder)

• Medium: Vector (made with Flash)

A liminal deity that exists in the threshold between lives. Remains of a cult and idle have been discovered near Ombos suggesting a reciprocity between zealots and entities; atonement in exchange for a glimpse of the key that was proclaimed to be the only obtainable solution to pass though one of the gates of the underworld. Scholars have referred to this particular pylon as “The Cosmic Keyhole”, thought to be one of the most cardinal of passageways to the next plane.

17. nn

It was made for my artist friend who has lived in all 3 cities. Miami (pink), NYC (blue), and DC (gray)

20. The All Seeing Eye

• year: 2022

• medium: oil on wood 12"

22. Towards Light

• MEDIUM: Colour pencil on cold pressed paper

• DATE: 26th May, 2025

‘Helenya Apostolou’s work focuses on bridging the gap between movement and stillness through the creation of light-reactive paintings and drawings that shift and change under RGB LED lights.
Drawing on colour theory and the subtractive primary colours, she layers images at different stages of motion to form short, repetitive, stop-motion animations. When viewed under colour-changing lights, these pieces offer an immersive visual experience.
Helenya uses this dynamic effect to tell stories—conveying complex emotions and ideas, and illustrating progressions or cycles. As lighting sequences slow, different images and meanings emerge and recede, allowing individual layers to be observed while three distinct timeframes coexist on the canvas.
Even without specialty lighting, her work remains bold, vibrant, and visually striking in natural light. The vivid colour palette, central to her technique, contrasts with the sensitive and introspective themes her paintings explore—such as anxiety, frustration, and longing. Through overlapping colours and intricate designs, her work captures a sense of visual overwhelm, mirroring the emotional intensity and saturation at the heart of her subject matter.’

Let’s talk about earplugs. Some hate them, some love them, and most of us know the damage of high sound levels but not the good solutions.

I want to share with you my favorite earplugs by FLARE Audio.

I have been using them for the last eight years, almost the same pair. I lost one about a year ago, so it’s half the original pair. In my opinion, they helped me hear the music I like better when I’m at parties and festivals.

How I see it, as a person, we absorb frequencies from the environment, and in music, when it’s so loud, our tiny voice in the head tries to compete with the sound levels of the music. But when you use earplugs, they put a barrier between the little voice in the head and the music, which helps maintain the voice in a quiet way and give it more space to be. This helps maintain mindfulness and be more free to “fall” into the complexity of the music because the little voice doesn’t try to compete with it.

Texts Of The Month:

1. חלק ממאמר קרוב.

- By Yonis Artistry YLA

The artwork for this album cover was created live by me during one of LA-ROSH events.
