7. In the Key of T

• About the art: "In the Key of T" was painted in 2004. I was playing with musical instrument design within my mad world. Nature has its own soundtrack, and this beast likes to play in the key of "T", which doesn't exist on our plane. Music plays an important role in my creations, I hope you enjoy.

• About the art: The drawing captures the intersection of three instruments across four dimensions. The two pianos represent the duality of space and reflection. while the harp extends into the unseen axis of vibration. The sounds are curving through time. What appears separate in three dimensions is continuous in four: every string, every key, part of the same harmonic body.

Animation Of The Month:

1. "Ruminating Thoughts"

• About the art: this video isfrom an audio visualiser I wrote named BioSphere. In the Musicbox video, the music it's responding to, I wrote a long time ago. I designed a scripting language called biomeScript that BioSphere uses to make animations. I use BioSphere for VJ performances, including projection mapping

2. "worm ascension"

• About the art: This piece grew out of my recent experimentations with Cinema4D, where I am learning to translate my usual hand-drawn geometric style into animated 3D loops. It's a much more generative and unpredictable workflow than I'm used to which is refreshing!

Let’s talk about earplugs. Some hate them, some love them, and most of us know the damage of high sound levels but not the good solutions.

I want to share with you my favorite earplugs by FLARE Audio.

I have been using them for the last eight years, almost the same pair. I lost one about a year ago, so it’s half the original pair. In my opinion, they helped me hear the music I like better when I’m at parties and festivals.

How I see it, as a person, we absorb frequencies from the environment, and in music, when it’s so loud, our tiny voice in the head tries to compete with the sound levels of the music. But when you use earplugs, they put a barrier between the little voice in the head and the music, which helps maintain the voice in a quiet way and give it more space to be. This helps maintain mindfulness and be more free to “fall” into the complexity of the music because the little voice doesn’t try to compete with it.
