• I found an old canvas with an abstract texture that I had painted in 2017. I could faintly see 3-dimensional structures within the texture, and felt inspired to paint over it and emphasize those structures. After an extensive process of layering translucent paint, I ended up with this image with 3-dimensional structures covered in a strange stone-like texture. The forms evoke a mysterious sense of ancient architecture and alien technology. •

• Laurence is the spiritual mentor of Io, the main character of Sunterry’s upcoming graphic novel. Due to genetic mutations, Laurence has the largest brain in the history of mankind which has gifted him an uncanny ability to intuit profound insights about the universe. In this image he is preaching to his devotees about morality and how his cult can live accordingly. The details of his creed and its consequences will be the main theme of the story. •

Sculptures Of The Month:
1.“Symmeries of the Dodecahedron” • by robhockingmathart
• 3D-print (polyamide with nickel plating) •
• Rotations of three dimensional space are mapped via quaternions to points on the unit hypersphere. Thus, the rotational symmetries of every Platonic solid correspond to a set of points in 4D, which can be used to generate a 4D regular polytope provided certain criteria are met. The 120-cell is such a polytope, constructed out of the rotational symmetries of the dodecahedron. This work is a fractal variant of the 120-cell projected down to 3D. It consists of five chains of eight fractal dodecahedrons each, twisting around one another in a tree-like structure. Each chain is the physical manifestation of a subgroup of the group of rotational symmetries of the dodecahedron. •
